Pantry & the Wardrobe

The Pantry & the Wardrobe serves as a lifeline for individuals and families experiencing financial stress by offering low-cost food, clothing, and home-wares, and for those environmentally conscious “Op Shoppers” looking for sustainable choices. This initiative addresses immediate hunger, promotes food security, helps people dress with confidence without straining their budgets and reduces the burden on those facing economic hardships. In addition to this, it fosters a sense of community by providing a welcoming environment where people can access support with dignity.

The store is dedicated to addressing the growing issue of food distress within our community. We witness firsthand the increasing need for low-cost food, clothing, and homewares, and we are committed to providing support to those in desperate circumstances.

The team opens its doors every weekday to welcome individuals and families in need and take pride in providing a safe haven where quality food, clothing, and essential homewares are available at low cost. Our work is made possible through strong partnerships with food rescue and distribution organisations, as well as generous contributions from the public and local businesses. However, the heart of our initiative lies in the dedication of our invaluable volunteers who play a pivotal role in our community service.

How to Access Emergency Relief

Emergency Relief is available by referral at the Pantry & the Wardrobe, to help meet the most basic needs of individuals and families who need short-term food assistance.

A referral can be provided by an agency on behalf of their client. The completed referral form is then emailed to the Community Outreach team which prepares a food parcel that can be collected from the Pantry & the Wardrobe located at 479 Mulgrave Road between 10 am and 3 pm Monday to Thursday and 10 am and 2:30 pm on Friday.

If you do not work with an agency and require emergency food assistance, please call

Anglicare Homelessness Services on 07 4046 8050.
