Anglicare North Queensland relies on the financial support of generous people to help all those who turn to us for assistance. There are specific services that are government funded, but a large number of our programs are only made possible by your donations. Your support enables us to meet the needs of the most vulnerable and at-risk members of our community.
The Mentoring Program aims to re-engage young people with their education and community through recreational activities that will meet their needs.
The Mentoring Program supports young people who are disengaged from their education, at risk of social isolation, or simply in need of extra youth worker support.
Services provided have a strong focus on; supporting positive behaviour, physical and emotional safety and security, building self-esteem, building positive relationships, In–School support, respite activities, supervised family contact and additional Youth Worker support.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Workers are available to deliver culturally appropriate and sensitive services as required.
Case plan and program decision making will occur through genuine consultation and participation with the young person, family members (where appropriate) and the referring stakeholder.
