Non-family-based Residential Care
Non-family-based residential care provides alternative accommodation to children and young people who are unable to live with their parents. Often, children in non-family-based residential care are also on a care and protection order.
Anglicare NQ is funded to provide residential care services within the Cairns, Tablelands and Townsville areas.
Transitional Housing Program (THP)
The Transitional Housing Program is funded through the Department of Child Safety and provides accommodation and support in a share house and outreach placement unit, to young people, aged 15-17 years old. This service supports young people with moderate to complex support needs, currently in the care of Child Safety Services (Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services) and who have a readiness to transition into alternative independent accommodations.
